Opening Day Results

We hunted a traffic wheat field right away in the morning and the birds decoyed great before the sun came up. They had been using the neighboring field for about a month and had accumulated around 300 birds total. Once the sun came up and that first flock flew past us and landed in the field next to us we were done and ended that hunt with 10 birds we went from there about 2 miles down the road to a midday loafing pond we knew they would fly over. Got set up there and shot 9 more. 19 out of our 25 bird limit. Not a bad hunt but it sure is frustrating watching flock after flock fly over you knowing theres nothing you can do about it. We also got one band on the day. Not a bad start to the season!

NICE!! I wore shorts today for dove.... Got a few funny looks... SCREW THEM!

That's about 2000X more meat than the 15 dove our group shot yesterday!!! ;-)
