DONALDSONVILLE, La. (AP) — More than 80 hunters were arrested by state and federal game wardens who conducted a baiting raid on a hunting and fishing club near Donaldsonville, according to state and federal officials.
The U.S. Attorney’s office in Baton Rouge and the state Department of Wildlife and Fisheries on Monday confirmed the raid had taken place at the Palo Alto Gun and Rod Club on Sunday, but deferred releasing details until their offices finished preparing charges.

Club officials did not immediately return a call Tuesday from The Associated Press.
Robert “Bubba” Lemann, manager of Palo Alto, refused to comment Monday to The Times-Picayune.
The federal citation process, which involves a review of field reports by a U.S. Attorney and possible grand jury presentation, could take several weeks, said Lyman Thornton III, first assistant U.S. Attorney in Baton Rouge.

Saw this earlier somewhere and yeah I can believe it. I am sure this thing goes on all the time as it is difficult to police. Good job for the local wildlife dept.
at a pay to hunt place..... I bet 90% of the hunters had no CLUE that it was baited......
I know at least one who was caught. Not sure how the Harry Lee law was written a few years ago but I have an idea that most hunters will get off. Now the owners...That's a different story.

Doesn't this place raise their own birds? or is that just ducks?

I think it's just quail & pheasant, but I'm not 100 percent on that.
